The artists and designers of Cuenca, Ecuador handcraft beautiful regional ceramics that reflect the imagery and natural beauty of their Andean culture. Crafted from
local high-density earthenware clay using lustrous glazes imported from
Stoke-on-Trent, England (near Doulton's headquarters), where glazing pottery has been an industry for
hundreds of years. Entirely hand-painted with lead and cadmium-free colours
imported from the US; they meet all US and state safety regulations for
cadmium and lead-free content.
Inside, a 7 inch Doulton Imperial SuperSterasyl candle providing
up to 4/16 gallons/liters of chemical free, cysts free and bacteria
free water per day.
The gravity filter
consists of two vessels. The inside container is filled with raw water which then filters through the ceramic candle. Safe, cool, filtered water
then collects in the lower chamber, to be drawn off from the spigot.
